The book that I'm currently reading is diary of a wimpy kid. Whe I was little I was not a fan of reading because I thought it was boring just looking at words on a page and plus I was more of a writer. But when this amazing new series came out I was immediately drawn to it. I read the book the same day I got it. It was just so amazing to me that it was mostly story but also mostly drawings.
In the book Diary of a wimpy kid the main character Greg HEffly faces many normal teen problems where it seems that everything always goes wrong. Even when it's the right thing to do it wrong. He basically has no way of winning in any situation and you can't help but to feel bad for him. Throughout the book we live life through Greg Hefflys perspective. Anything that would happen to a teen will happen to him only difference is it comes back 10 times as worse.
Some examples are: when Greg Heffly was with his older brother they came across this old lady struggling to get across the street and when they asked the elder women where she was going she replied the supermarket 2 blocks down, and they knew that another supermarket wouldnt be 2 blocks away so they offered to take her to the one they thought was the closer. Which is roughly 6 miles away. The lady accepted the offer, and since Greg called shot gun the old lady had to sit in the back of the mini van. After dropping the old lady off they headed back home. Once they got home Greg told his mom about the good deed that they did. Greg expecting for his mom to say something positive she simply replied by saying "GREG THERE IS A SUPERMARKET 2 blocks AWAY IT JUST OPEND" after Greg herd the alarming news him and rodrick went pack to their mini van and drove off in search of the lady, they went to the super market were they dropped her off and the guy said she left 10 minutes ago. They went back in the van.
After a while of searching they found the lady back in a parking lot of where. The lady refused to get back in so that was the boys hint to leave so they did. Later on that night they were watching the news and when the herd teenage boys kidnapping old ladies the immediately got scared can't wait to keep reading ...
I bet that's exactly the reason why this book was made, to get more kids excited about reading. What do you think Greg represents to you in the book? Why does everything go so wrong?
